At long last, we had a visit from Grampy!
He came for a visit last July, and we have been longing for another all year.
We didn't have him as long as we would like, so hopefully he can come up for a longer visit soon.
He arrived Sunday afternoon, and left early saturday morning.  Needless to say, we managed to have a lot of fun in the few days we had!
We didn't take a vast amount of pictures over the week, but here are a few - I'll let them tell their own story for the most part.
What is the first thing you do when Grampy visits?
Eat, of course!
Grampy brought some fresh-caught, Canadian salmon... words can't describe how good it was.  We ate it with his special homemade greek salad...  ah yes, Grampy is here.  Did I mention he brought some pies?;)
The first thing monday morning, we did some target practice.  Grampy is the best teacher=)
The three little girls shot Aubrey's .22 pistol - Ellen is a dead shot!;)
Lilly takes aim
A regular Annie Oakley
Aubrey and I fired Grampy's .357 Python revolver - that was so fun to shoot!
Grampy put some empty shells in the gun to see if we were flinching - I didn't=)
Ma tried a few rounds.  We missed Pa; he had to go to town.
I tried out Grampy's .45 auto - fun!
Well, the next few days flew by, punctuated by laughter and good food.
Grampy is going to have me sew a western shirt for him, which will probably show up on here at some point - Ellen got new cowgirl boots, we played music, baked cookies, and had a lovely time!
The North Idaho Hat Band had their last opportunity to perform at the Rockin' B Ranch on Thursday - they played once a month this year as the pre-show.
Grampy and I were able to come this time, and we were treated to great food, greater fellowship, and the greatest music!!
Grampy just loved the ten-minute Pat McManus show in the middle of performance!;)
Mr. H.  and the boys... we had a ball doodling on the paper tablecloth:)
Grampy and the girls
Thank you so much, y'all, for having us come!
Well, as do all good things, Grampy's visit had to end.
As does this post.
Happy Trails, folks!
P.S. Did you ever notice how much blogging lends itself to corny statements?

It was so much fun to have Grampy visit!  I'm so glad that you were both able to come to the Rockin' B:)
All of the target practice looks like fun=)
Why doesn't anyone ever take me out to shoot guns?!  *sigh* ;)
I guess I'll just have to keep bugging Alex...
P.S. Yes, blogging does lend itself to corny statements, and to stating the obvious, which I am very good at;)

It looks like y'all had fun with your Grampy!
Vitist from family beats all, doesn't it? :)

(And yes--blogging does seem to lend itself to corny statements. I speak from experience...);)
